Marcella I. “Peggy” Briery, 91, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Midland Hospice House. She was born June 5, 1926 in Topeka, the daughter of Henry W. and Ethel T. (DeMotte) Frost.

Marcella graduated from Highland Park High School. She was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church, the Great Overland Station Museum, the Combat Air Museum and MOAA. She and her husband, John were avid KU Fans and members of the Topeka Jayhawk Club.

Marcella married John William Briery on March 4, 1944 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 27, 2007.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Bill) Reynolds of Lawrence, Kansas, Zona (Steve) Hudkins of Topeka, four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Combat Air Museum, The Great Overland Station or to Midland Care all of Topeka.
