He was born March 27, 1951 to Gray and Patricia (Oswald) Prescott.
Tom graduated from Highland Park High School. He was currently a senior painter at the University of Kansas. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
On November 8, 1969 he married Bonnie Wymore at Assumption Church in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two children, Christopher Prescott (Deana Morstorf-Prescott), Topeka and Crystal Prescott; four siblings, Anna Thorne, Theresa Plank (Charles "Bud"), Bill Prescott (Michelle) and Anthony (Edie); five grandchildren, Ashley Prescott-Finan (Jack), Brooke Prescott, Seth Prescott, Stacy Prescott and Alexander Prescott and one great-granddaughter, Princess Mackenzie Finan.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gray, Jr. and Mike Prescott.
Tom enjoyed bowling, golf, square dancing and fishing.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore, Topeka. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka.
