Charles L. “Chuck” Craft I, 78, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Midland Hospice House.

Chuck was born May 13, 1939, in Topeka, KS, to Lewis and Pauline (Tillson) Craft. He attended Topeka High School and later served in the US Navy. Chuck married Jacqueline Humphrey on November 15, 1957, in Topeka. He retired after 36 years working as a lineman for KP&L and owned Craft Liquor Store, Valley Falls.

He will be remembered by his loving great-grandchildren as “Gramps” and “Beeps.”
Chuck is survived by his two children, Brent (Julie) Craft and Brenda (Riley Price) Wilbur; four grandchildren, Chuck L. (Calie) Craft II, Maggie (Frank) Giebler, Kate Craft, and Derrick (Cait) Wilbur; four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Cale, and Charley Craft, and Chris Giebler; sister, Sandy (Skip) Gladfelter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Craft.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 6:00 on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. A private burial will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, Topeka.
