Sylvia Juanita Boaz Herrmann, 86, of Berryton, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at an Overbrook care facility. She was born July 7, 1931 in Topeka, the daughter of Clarence and Lelia Marian (Yoho) Boaz.

Sylvia graduated from Highland Park High School and Washburn University. She assisted on their family farm and was well known for the wedding cakes she made. She was a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church.

Sylvia married Lawrence Herrmann. He preceded her in death in 1968. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heather Paige Herrmann in 2005 and her brother, Stanley Boaz.

Survivors include their children Duane L. Herrmann of Topeka, Elona Sue Benefiel of Benton City, Washington, Dr. Mark A. Herrmann and William (Bill) E. Herrmann both of Berryton, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and her siblings, Don Boaz, Sadie Carpenter, James Boaz and June Clair.

Private interment took place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Topeka and no public services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
