Douglas Clyde Peavler, 59, of Overbrook, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. He was born November 24, 1957, in Topeka the son of Clyde E. and Charlene (Brown) Peavler.

Doug graduated from Seaman High School in 1975. He was a member of Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church, and a Past-President and board member of Sail-a-way Estates. He worked at Adams Business Forms for 30 years and currently worked for Smucker’s in Lawrence. He loved to cook and golf and was a supporter of K.U. Athletics, the Royals, and the Chiefs.

Doug was married to Laurie Tibbs on August 25, 1984, in Topeka.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Ian Mabry (Laura) of Kyle, TX, and Holly Jefferies (James) of Topeka; his parents: Clyde and Charlene Peavler of Topeka; his brothers: Steven Peavler (Lisa) and Michael Peavler (Shannon) all of Topeka; four grandchildren: Lily Jefferies, Alexander Jefferies, Connor Mabry, and Jackson Mabry; and six nieces and six nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Grove
.
Doug will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
