Pastor George Edward Bardsley, 77, Topeka, died Monday, October 2, 2017, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born March 15, 1940, in Topeka the son of George Mervyn and Margaret Blanche (Elliott) Bardsley.
George graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Rhema Bible Training Center (Broken Arrow, OK). He had worked for Brackett Stripping Company; Santa Fe Railroad Shops where he was a machinist; and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. He had served as minister of Church on the Rock and was a volunteer at the Family of God Church Food Pantry.
He was married to Crystal Kay English on July 10, 1971, at Lexington, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, George Warren Bardsley, in 1985; and a brother, Robert “Bob” Bardsley.
Surviving are his wife, Crystal Bardsley, of the home; children: Sheila Wolf (Gene) of Auburn, Gregg Bardsley of Prescott, AZ, Kim Stallbaumer (Dennis) of Topeka, and Shelly Schimmel of Stockton, MO; a sister: Beverly Peaslee (Bill) of Topeka; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 6, 2017, at Family of God Church with Pastor Roger D. Randel, Jr. officiating. Private interment of cremains will be in Vassar Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM, Friday, at Family of God Church.
