Barbara J. Adams, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born December 18, 1935 in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Allen and Pauline (Osborn) Mitchell.

Barbara graduated from Topeka High School. She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years prior to retiring. She was a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club.
Barbara married Howard E. Adams on August 20, 1954 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Darell Mitchell.

Survivors include their children, Marcia L. Adams, Mark S. Adams, Mona Bouchey and two grandchildren, Toriana Bouchey and Cole Bouchey.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606 or to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, Kansas 66506.
