Ramon "Ray" Dreier, 76, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017.

He was born March 19, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Carl Ernest and Mary Grace (Crist) Dreier. He was a 1959 graduate of Highland Park High School. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard during the Vietnam War.

Ramon was a photographer. He was employed by Wolf’s Camera and Photo 1 Commercial Photography. He served as a Volunteer Fireman for the Topeka/Tecumseh Township Fire Department which later became Shawnee Heights Fire Department for nearly 40 years. He also helped establish and served on the VEST Volunteer Fire Department in Shawnee County. He later worked for Wilcox RV in Topeka as a Certified Master RV Technician.

Ramon married Joan Lovett on April 9, 1971 in Miami, OK. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Linda Louise (Rick) Brown, Scottsbluff, NE; two grandchildren, Meghan Louise Rowland and Cameron Devonshire Brown; a brother, Richard Dreier; and nieces and nephews.

Honoring his request, Ramon was cremated. No services are planned. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice for the flood victims in Texas.
