She was born on November 7, 1924 near Corning, KS to John James and Pearl L. (Morrison) Malloy. She grew up in Corning, and Soldier, KS and graduated from Soldier High School, and went on to attend Stricklers Business College.
She married Clyde L. Murren on September 21, 1946 in Topeka, KS. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1983.
On October 28, 1989 she married Herbert C. Lambert in Silver Lake, KS. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1998.
She was a proud 50 year member of Silver Lake Post #160 of the American Legion Auxiliary. She attended Silver Lake United Methodist Church, and most recently, Central Park Christian Church.
Lorene enjoyed spending time with family, square dancing, baking pies, and volunteering at Silver Lake Elementary. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening, and was known for helping others.
She is survived by two daughters, Debi (Terry) Barnes, of Topeka, KS, and Jeanne Rodecap (Bev), of Daytona Beach, FL; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Arthur J. Malloy; and a sister, Lavina David.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Lorene will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel.
Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Silver Lake Post #160 of the American Legion Auxiliary.
