Ola Vern (Pugh) Green, 86, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, at Midland Care.

Ola was born July 17, 1931, in Razer, TX, to Clarence and Ola Bell (Bailey) Pugh. She attended Booker T. Washington High School in Hugo, OK where she met Clayton Green. They were married on January 8, 1948 in Paris, TX. Together they had four children. She retired after 25 years as a dietary cook at Stormont Vail Healthcare. Clayton and Ola were longtime members of Quivira Heights Church of Christ. She was a dedicated Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years; four children, Marion (Stella) Green of Leavenworth, KS, Patricia (Mopoi) Nuwanyakpa of Niamey, Niger, Ola Jean (Faustin) Bangole of Libreville, Gabon, and Sharon K. Green of Olathe, KS; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Obeter William; and many nieces and nephews.

Ola was preceded in death by two brothers, JC Pugh and Ponce Deleon Roosevelt William Pugh; and one sister, Jewel Tucker.

A funeral ceremony will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Quivira Heights Church of Christ, 1718 SW Crest Drive, Topeka, KS 66604.
