Larry K. Bryan, 78, Topeka, passed away June 18, 2017 in Pittsburg, Kansas.

He was born on April 23, 1939 in El Dorado, KS to Lawrence Elsworth and Mayme Mae (Percell) Bryan. He was a graduate of El Dorado High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Emporia State Teachers’ College in 1963.

Larry worked as a Supervisor of the Auto Section in Property & Casualty of the Kansas Insurance Department in Topeka from which he retired in 1994
.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Arab Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters Court 125, Quetzalcatl, Cabiri, Arab Shrine Clowns, Topless, Legion of Honor and Antiques. He served as Potentate in 2003.

On March 17, 1989, he married Charlene Scott. She survives. Other survivors include step-sons, Kenneth (Betsy) Scott, Douglas (Brenda) Scott, Jeffery Scott, all of Topeka, Donald (Hernan) Scott, West Hollywood, CA; 6 step-grandchildren and spouses; 3 step-great-grandchildren; nephews, Flint (Kim) Bryan, Springfield, MO, Mark (Donna) Bryan, Wichita, Bart (Jackie) Bryan, Greenfield, TX, Todd (Sandy) Bryan, Springfield, MO; sister-in-law, Patricia Bryan; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Lawrence Creighton Bryan, Buddy D. Bryan, and Jimmy A. Bryan.

Cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Arab Shrine Temple, 1305 S. Kansas Avenue, Topeka, KS 66612.
