Kenneth M. Hackathorn, 89, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at his home. He was born February 12, 1928 in Coquile, Oregon, the son of Kenneth L. and Durcy (Stroud) Hackathorn.

Kenneth graduated from Perry High School. He was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 38 years before retiring in 1991. He was a Navy Veteran during the Korean War. Kenneth was an EMT and volunteered for AMA for several years. He also worked at the Kansas State House for a few years.

Kenneth married Jean Lindburg on June 25, 1950 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Penny (Ray) Tennyson of Loganville, Georgia, Tina (Larry) Lewis and Kenneth R. Hackathorn and Kelle Wentworth all of Topeka, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his sister, Evelee Manis of Meriden.

Kenneth was preceded in death by one sister, Minnie Palmer and his brother, Denzil Hackathorn.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017 Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 S.W. 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
