Dorothy Louise Brune, 97, Topeka, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017.

Dorothy was born March 14, 1920 in Topeka, the daughter of William and Grace (Burch) Roberts. She graduated from Topeka High School and Dodd’s Business College.

She was employed as a Secretary for the Commanding General at Ft. Leavenworth and later worked at Sears in Topeka for many years.

She was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church and the Santa Fe Old Timers.

Dorothy married Carl Brune on December 8, 1940 in Atchison. He died November 7, 2002. Survivors include their children, William M. (Dianne) Brune, Topeka, Karen K. Kent, San Louis Obispo, CA, Terry Lynn (Roxanne) Brune, Pittsfield, NH, Susette J. (Gordon) Kraus, Memphis, TN; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, William A. Roberts and Wayne Roberts.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence.

Memorial contributions may be made to Haiti Medical Missions of Memphis, 1779 Kirby Parkway #1, Box 319, Memphis, TN 38138.
