Marilyn L. Harris, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born April 10, 1933 in Gentry Co., Missouri, the daughter of Marion and Cora (Carpenter) Brandt.

Marilyn graduated from Albany High School in Albany, Missouri. She was a member of West Side Christian Church.

Marilyn married Denzil H. Harris on April 5, 1951 at Albany, Missouri. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Sherry (James) O’Neill of Holton, Kansas, Brenda Clark of Topeka, David (Emily) Harris of Topeka, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by one son, Gary Harris, one great-grandson, Kade Allen and her son-in-law, Steve Clark.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor’s choice.
