Delyte Dae Mellies Moran, 89, of Topeka, passed from this earth on Sunday, January 29, 2017. She was born October 24, 1927 in Morganville, Kansas and lived most of her life in Topeka, Kansas. She was the daughter of John Carl Mellies and Nettie E. Liby Mellies. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ralph Mellies and Lee Mellies and a sister, Mandy Lee Mellies Clark.

Delyte graduated from Clay County High School in 1945 and attended Topeka Technical College. She was an assistant supervisor for the State of Kansas and a clerk in the credit department at JC Penney, retiring from both positions after 23 years.

She is survived by her two sons, Brian Moran and wife Barbara of Ocala, Florida, David Moran of Topeka, Kansas; one grandson, Kevin Moran and his wife Alina of Florida and one great-grand daughter, Alexandra Moran also of Florida; one sister, Dona Mellies Welborn and a brother, Dale Mellies both of Kansas.

A private family service will be held at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
