Walter B. Delge, Jr.

Walter B. Delge, Jr., 69, Topeka, died Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. He was born May 27, 1947, in Topeka, the son of Walter B. Delge, Sr. and Lucille (Mahkuk) Delge.

Junior graduated from Lecompton High School and attended Haskell Institute Vocational Department. He was a Union Laborer. He liked socializing, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. His family was very special to him. He was a member of the Prairie Band Pottawatomi Nation and his was a familiar face at Native American functions and Pow-wows.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Ilona Delgadillo; and a brother: Mike Delge.

Surviving are his siblings: Betty Rice of Mayetta, Margaret Mahkuk of Mayetta, Pat Mahkuk of Topeka, Eilleen Delge of Lecompton, Denny Delgadillo of Mayetta, Ione Childers of Perry, Marilyn Delgadillo of Lecompton, Yvonne Tunstall of Lecompton, and Renee Merritt of Lecompton.

Walter will lie in state from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Cremation will follow with private interment of cremains in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Walter B. Delge, Jr. Memorial Fund, 619 Whitfield, Lot 5-B, Lecompton, KS 66050.
