Joshua James Ray Gueary, 25, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2017. He was born August 18, 1991 in Topeka, the son of Larry and Anita (Bryant) Gueary, Sr.

Joshua graduated from Topeka West High School in 2009. He was an Army Veteran. He was employed by Compassionate Care Community Services for the past 6 months. He was a member of MCA Fight Club and was a coach for the Topeka Tornados.

Joshua married Chelcie E. Blackwell on November 18, 2013 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Maya Simone Gueary of Topeka, parents, Larry and Anita Gueary, Sr. and one sister, Roneisha Gueary all of Topeka, his maternal grandparents, Julia Bryant of Arlington, TX, J.L. Bryant of Topeka, his paternal grandmother, Quindella Gueary of Topeka, two nieces, Audryanna and Rylee, three nephews, Brandon, Hayden and Larry III, and a host of family and friends.

Joshua was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Henry Gueary, his aunt, Lanise Bryant-Whitson, maternal great-grandmother, Marian Maples and his paternal great-grandmother, Carrie Mae Eatmon.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Joshua will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Joshua J. R. Gueary Memorial Fund, sent in care of Communication Federal Credit Union.
