Dona was born September 10, 1928, in Topeka, KS, to Michael and Margaret (Roll) Kulp. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1940 and Christ’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. Dona worked for the VA Hospital until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church. Dona enjoyed sewing and painting.
She is survived by her three children, Steven A. Gibson on Lawrence, KS, David A. (Lori) Gibson of Tecumseh, KS, and Kathleen A. (Ashraf) Azer of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia Reece of Topeka, KS.
Dona was preceded in death by her daughter, LeeAnn M. Gibson; and daughter-in-law, Paulett Gibson.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka.
