Evangeline "Evie" Sheets, 83, of Topeka, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017.
She was born May 7, 1933, in Phillipsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Hugh and Marie (Merklin) Starr.
She grew up in Phillipsburg, Kansas, and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. She went on to attend Kansas State University, receiving her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education.
Evie married Scott Edwin Sheets on June 1, 1956 in Phillipsburg. Together they raised three children, and Evie served her family as a homemaker.
Evie loved crocheting, crafting, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Sheets, of Topeka; a daughter, Jennifer (Bruce) Parman, of Auburn, Kansas; sons, Greg Sheets, of Overbrook, Kansas, and Kelly (Jenny) Sheets, of Los Molinos, California; brother, Merle Starr; five grandchildren, Tyne Marie Powell, Casey Parman, Bridget King, Scott Sheets, and Lexi Sheets; as well as six great-grandchildren, Jordan Newby, Makayla Gomez-Powell, Jaiden Gomez-Powell, Gabriel Parman, Noah Parman, and Ellery Parman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Cyerna Johnson; and two brothers, Roland and Kenny Starr.
A memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Mount Hope Cemetery Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka.
