Francis Elaine Young was born on January 15, 1933 to Alfonso Brisco and Mildred Hudspeth.
She attended school in Topeka. Following her education she went on to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Colmery O’neil VA Hospital in Topeka. She was dedicated to working with veterans, and helping however she was able to. She also served as a Union Steward President with the VA.
Francis loved playing cards, dominos, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, and a devoted grandmother, and great-grandmother. Francis was an avid wrestling fan, and enjoyed watching and attending wrestling events.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Glenn) Blue, of Topeka; a grandson, Steven (Karol) Blue, of Topeka; a granddaughter, Stacy (Ronnie, Sr.) Cushinberry; great-children, Ronnie Cushinberry, Jr., Ashrae'Ana Cushinberry, Makhia Blue, De'Onzay Blue, Heziki Sexton, Zachari Sexton; sisters, Wanda Sanders, Saundra Jefferson; a brother, Carl Hudspeth; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maurine Robinson and Gail Hudspeth; as well as a brother, Lloyd Brisco.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Asbury-Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, 1196 SW Buchanan, Topeka. The family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church.
Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
