Iona “Louise” Winsor

Iona “Louise” Winsor, 93, Topeka, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Plaza West, Topeka. She was born February 11, 1924, on a farm north of Burlingame, one of fourteen children born to Elmer Nathenial and Elvia “Cathryn” (Morris) Seastrom.

Louise loved to garden and loved her flowers. She and Doc had been members of Country Cousins Square Dancers and Santa Fe Squares.

She was married to Lyman E. “Doc” Winsor on May 23, 1946, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters: Dora Couch, Dorothy Sheer, Lucille Winsor; and brothers: Earl, Wayne, Carol “Art,” and Garold Seastrom.

Surviving are a daughter: Joy Postma (David) of Wheatland, MO; three sons: Bill Winsor (Billie) of Topeka, Bruce Winsor of Paxico, and Brad Winsor (Delthea) of Topeka; five sisters: Mable Collier of Topeka, Margie Prescott of Burlingame, Neva Douglas of Holton, Opal Slusser of Holton, and Naomi Tucker of Topeka; a brother: Walter Seastrom of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 24, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW Seventeenth Street, Topeka.

Louise will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Friday.
