Iryllis “Dee” Gronquist Puff

Iryllis “Dee” Gronquist Puff, 91, Topeka, died Sunday, February 19, 2017, at her home. She was born October 13, 1925, at Clyde, the daughter of Jon Conrad and Elizabeth Anna (Jones) Gronquist.

Dee was a member of the United Methodist Church, Topeka Geological Society, Alma High School Alumni Association, and the Community Action Board. She had served as a leader in the Oakland 4-H Club. She was a passionate Democrat. Dee ran a group home for the blind for forty-plus years.

She was married to Charles Richard Puff, who preceded her in death. Dee was also preceded in death by a son, David Puff; a grandson, Kristopher Puff; and a great-granddaughter, Ashlie Hundertfund.

Surviving are six children: Richard Puff of Topeka, Jon Puff of Springfield, MO, James Puff of Maple Hill, Robert Puff of Hernando, MS, Bradford Puff of Maple Hill and Alice Schimmel of Maple Hill; a brother: Bradford Gronquist of Sebastian, FL; 20 Grandchildren; 43 Great-grandchildren; 6 Great-great-grandchildren; and many, many, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 27, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Private interment of cremains will be in the Bern Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral chapel.
