James W. Frederick, 70, of Topeka, passed away on February 20, 2017.

He was born on July 19, 1946 in Topeka to James E. Frederick and Doris (Warner) Frederick.

He grew up in Topeka and graduated from Hayden High School. He went on to attend Emporia State University, earning his degree in accounting.

James married Geralyn Ann (Desch) Frederick on February 14, 1997. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2015.

He spent his time pursuing spiritual fulfillment, working towards a strong connection with God.

He is survived by two sons, Jason (Seagren Kjorlie) Frederick, of Tacoma, WA, and James (Leslie) Frederick, of Petaluma, CA; a daughter, Lisa (David) Metcalf, of Oak Harbor, WA; siblings, Greg Frederick, Larry Frederick, and Mary C. Fredrick, of Topeka, and Mike Frederick, of TX; as well as five grandchildren, Lorielle, Tobias, Ruby, Isaac, and Trinity.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geralyn; and a brother, Steve Frederick.

Private family inurnment will take place at Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery.
