Roger Dean Meyer, 73, of Topeka, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017.
He was born November 13, 1943 in Winchester, the son of Ernest D. and Ethel M. (Sappenfield) Meyer.
Roger graduated from Seaman High School and went to work in the auto parts industry, retiring in 2007.
He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and loved to ride with friends and family. He was a longtime member of the Seaman Community Church where he served on numerous boards and volunteered at many events. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and never turned down an opportunity to spend time with them.
Roger married Beverly J. Brees on July 28, 1973 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on November 8, 2012.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Dean Meyer (April) of Edgerton, KS; a daughter, Jill Shannon Engle (Travis) of Manhattan, KS and four grandchildren, Isabella, Kaylee, Rylee and Lincoln Meyer.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 17,2017 at the Seaman Community Church, 2036 NW Taylor St., Topeka, KS 66608.The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW. Independence, Topeka, KS 66608. Private interment will be in Meriden Cemetery.
