Lois Ellen Thompson, 94, Topeka, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Meadowbrook Rehab Hospital, Gardner. She was born November 23, 1922, at Valley Falls, the daughter of Jesse Travis “Brownie” Evans, Sr. and Mildred Elinor (Hurst) Evans.
She was married to Kenneth Lyle Thompson on June 22, 1942, at Holton. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1996. Lois was also preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Michael Thompson, on May 1, 1992.
Surviving are two sons: Lyle Dean Thompson (Connie) of Topeka, and Eugene Lee “Gene” Thompson (Susan) of Topeka; six grandchildren: Rhonda Anderson, Terry Thompson, Brenda Thompson, Tammy Hale (Jeff), Tracy Thompson, and Casey Hutchins; and five great-grandchildren: Linsey Anderson, Lexie Thompson, Brittney Hutchins, Taylor Hutchins, and Lucas Hutchins.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Private interment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Avenue, Topeka.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
