Constance Glenn Finden

Constance Glenn Finden, loving mother and devoted wife, passed away at the age of 81 on January 7, 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born April 22, 1935, in Topeka, Kansas, to Ralph and Ivah Raines Glenn. Connie graduated from Topeka High School and Washburn University in Topeka receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in home economics, retailing and merchandising. She was a member of Alpha Phi International Women’s Fraternity, and was employed as an assistant buyer in the notions department of Crosby Brothers. She met her husband, John “Jack” Finden, while he was a Lieutenant stationed at the Forbes Air Force Base. They were married May 10, 1958, and lived in Topeka until 1999, when they moved to Sun City, Arizona, full time. She was a member of Central Congregational Church in Topeka and Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church in Sun City where she served on numerous committees. She and Jack were active in collecting and restoring Classic Cars.

Connie is survived by her son Craig (Jill) Finden of Camdenton, Missouri; daughter Janet (Francis) Mitchell of Phoenix, Arizona; granddaughter Carrie (Chris) Case of Four Seasons, Missouri; and great-granddaughter Capri Case of Four Seasons, Missouri.

Services will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, at 2:00 pm, at Mount Hope Cemetery in the Mausoleum’s Original Abbey Chapel, 4700 SW Seventeenth Street, Topeka. Entombment will be in Mount Hope Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Friends and family are invited to gather following the services at a friend of the family’s home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona, 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
