Craig "Zoom" Slater, 61, Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016.

He was born November 24, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Charlie and Judy (Kesinger) Slater. He graduated from Highland Park High School.

Craig worked for M&M Paint Supply, Guard Sales, Paint Station, Kansas Bumper and currently Paint Innovations.

Survivors include his children: Ben Slater, Sasha Horn, her husband Joshua, and Kayla Slater; grandchildren: Jordon Martin, Dathan Horn, Elaina Ortiz, Natalia Ortiz, Kaelyn Horn, Frankie Ortiz and Stone Horn; brother, Gregory Slater and the mother of his children, Suzanne Sargent, all of Topeka.

He was preceded by his parents and sister, Valerie.

Craig enjoyed gardening, fishing, listening to music, mushroom hunting, cooking, watching wheel of fortune and being with his family.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Interment will follow at Topeka Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A gathering will follow the graveside service at Rose Wood Event Hall, 3216 SW 29th Street, Topeka. Family requests that you bring a side dish or dessert for everyone to enjoy.
