Jeffrey L. Collins, 61, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at his Topeka assisted living home after extended illnesses.
Jeffrey was born October 31, 1954, in Junction City, KS, to Bruce and Carol (Rush) Collins. He served in the US Marine Corps following high school and was discharged with health problems that required assisted living. He spent many years at the Alma Manor in the veteran’s program and for the last several years his close friends, Jean and Justin Bogart have provided this assistance.
He is survived by his father; step-mother, Helen; brothers, Alan M. (Tracea) Collins of Montrose, Colorado and Scott Collins of Renton, Washington; step-brother, Mike (Cheri) Olson; step-sisters, Julie (Dennis) Lilly and Janette (Robert) Blaise; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his mother.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the VA Medical Center All Faiths Chapel, 2200 SW Gage Blvd, Building 23, Topeka, KS 66622. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Wreford Cemetery, Junction City, KS.
