Patrick Henry Hale

Patrick Henry Hale, 58, Topeka, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Midland Hospice House. He was born February 6, 1958, in Smyrna, TN, the son of Walter Henry and Lorraine Marie (Neil) Hale. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Russell.

Patrick graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1976, attended Washburn University, and graduated from Topeka Tech. He was a long-time salesman and owned and operated Patrick’s Café in the Docking State Office Building.

He was a member of Southwest Christian Church; Golden Rule Lodge # 90, AF & AM; Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies; Helena Chapter # 210, OES; and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity (class president).

Surviving are two sisters: Diana Beatty (Rick) of Netawaka and Julie Luthi (Mark) of Mayetta; two daughters: Jennifer Wright (Ben) of Basehor and Lana Hale of Topeka; seven grandchildren: Shawn Wright, Shaydon Wright, Shelbie Wright, Skylur Hewitt, Ryan Hewitt, Corey Farris, and Lorilye Farris; step-mother: Joan Olga Hale of Topeka; and many nieces and nephews.

Patrick will lie in state from 3:00 to 8:30 PM, Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 24, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel followed by entombment of cremains in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3616 SW Sixth Avenue, Topeka, KS.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri, 6405 Metcalf Avenue, Suite 204, Shawnee Mission, KS 66202.
