He was born October 8, 1934, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the son of Garland and Lorna (Jones) Lenard. Following his graduation from high school he served the United States Army.
Paul worked as a barber for 62 years, and owned and operated Leonardo's Hair World in Topeka for 28 years. He was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka. Paul married Pat (Brown) Lenard on April 26, 1977 and they made their home in Topeka.
Survivors include daughters, Teresa McLinn (Phil), Julie Smith (Walt); son Mark Lenard (Lynn); Grandsons, Zachary McLinn, Kade Lenard, Drake Pino, and Dylan Smith (Angie); Granddaughters, Savannah McLinn, Melissa Ohmie (Brandon), Miranda Russell (Jake), and Keara Lenard; Great-Grandchilden, Marley Ohmie, Carter Russell, Cora Russell, Aaryn Smith, and Evan Smith.
He is preceded in death by his wife Pat Lenard; a brother Yogi Lenard; and a son, Lance Jason Lenard.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Penwell-Gabel - Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the West Lawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, 820 SW Auburn Road, Topeka.
