Bill graduated from Highland Park High School in 1963. He served in the National Guard for four years. He worked and retired from the Gas Service Company after 35 years.
Survivors include wife, Pamela Kaye (Downey) Hoyt; two sons, Dustin Blu and Stephen Shad Hoyt (Raven) and her children, Leland, Laryn and Leah; two brothers-in-law, Ward and Steve Downey and one sister-in-law, Paula Downey; aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Fred & Maude and sister, Sally Ayers.
Bill will be remembered fondly by family and friends as a loving husband and father. He will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25 at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, 3501 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS.
Private inurnment will be held at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene or the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd, Topeka, KS 66604.
Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
